It's dead as there's little worth discussing. I tend to be logged into the game getting up to mischief during weekends so I don't bother posting much.

It seems like the true market for selling character is at a much lower price point than that. Many more sell orders than buy orders right now, if you will; it's just that people sometimes feel okay about unsuccessful sell orders (and keep paying that subscription for a character they'd prefer to sell).
The character market at the moment is rather interesting. I have noticed the same things as you except people are using a lot of alts to bump up character prices. When they receive an offer a lot of them mock the offer and the buyer never returns as they try to jack up the price.
Characters will continue to sell under the price of monthly plex because of SP inflation. Remaps and the ability to create much better characters than were originally available have diminished the value of characters. That and a lot of people do have spare characters or accounts that they can resub if needed.
